Oh God, is tank commander Cor back in business?

Seriously though I expect us to start poorly, do something terrible on special teams, show just a touch of fight then give up a softy and deflate from there

Pretty much what constitutes a usual Leaf performance

I’ve hung up my regular season GDT making this year. I’ve enjoyed seeing new posters come in and do it.

If there’s a playoff series we are apart of (not looking likely) then there will be the Paint GDT.

I don’t have the motivation to do more this year with how this team has done lol

Not yet. I want them to do a gong show tour through the time zones so that various fanbases will have their spirits uplifted beating the mighty Leafs. Then please let the axe fall
This is my youth hockey team. We passed from neighbourhood to neighbourhood and lost to every single team. The scores were like 16-3, but there is a catch. Everytime we played a game there was a huge pizza party provided after by our dads if we lost and they also participated. They were motivational parties to lift the spirit of everyone. Those are some of my best memories. :DD:DD:DD:DD:DD

Anyone else hoping we get destroyed?
Not me, I want to see a win.

Like the coach said the past couple of years, this young team wants to out-score their problems.

The problem now is they do not have the fire power, mainly due to roster deletions in the off season.

The team really misses the offense provided by Kadri, and how Gardiner was able to get the puck up quickly to the forwards. Zaitsev was good at that too along with being steady back there as the shut down guy.

The only way this team can win is low scoring games. They are unable to out score their problems. Not enough fire power up front and too leaky back there at the same time.

Change the lines.

Nylander at center and Johnsson both on the thrid line.

Let Matthews play with other wingers.

The team has injuries, so this is not a demotion. That will be the party line.

A team in trouble must be on the same page and tow the party line.

That cucumber cock slicing picture is beginning to haunt me . . . yikes!

Damn, sorry dude! Stay strong. It was never going to be easy!
In this spirit I would really like to see the following lines:

Hyman - Matthews - Mikheyev
Johnsson - Tavares - Kapanen
Timashov - Nylander - Spezza
Petan - Gauthier - LW/RW of your choice.

Anyone excited?

Gonna be fun to have the same lineup with no changes to lines!

Honestly though,

The Leafs are in the top 5 of the league in terms of CF%. They are no good at xGF%. What that means, is this team is throwing pucks on net from far out, for the sake of doing show. Lots of shot attempts, but very little meaningful shots. It’s like they don’t care about trying to get good scoring chances.

9-9-4 record entering the game.

Have allowed the first goal in 17 of our 22 games.

A bright spot? Vegas isn’t exactly off to a hot start either.
This was once heralded as “the Detroit model” and supremely revered.

I am looking forward to the game. I'll miss the first period though- maybe that is a good thing.

Maybe they'd have better scoring chances if they weren't idiots and pass the puck when they are in the slot and have an easy shot. Kerfoot is really bad for this but a lot of our players do it.

These long western road trips seem to be where coaches are let go. I’m not cheering for that but I’m expecting another horrawful effort.

Line 1:
Matthews - Tavares - Nylander 25 + minutes.

Who cares what the rest is.

Do we want Matthews to ever score again? lol

I like the Tavares line because Kapanen and Johnsson have both shown they can play well with him but Mikheyev and Hyman aren't great puck movers or passers so Matthews will pretty much have to play by himself.

Always hoping for a Leafs W, but wouldn't be opposed to getting smacked around and losing the game. With every loss it brings us closer and closer with getting rid of the Clown behind a bench.
