Why is Westberg not playing? Bono has been terrible.
Change of managers and Bono probably put it to GM either play me or get me outta here fast .. Bono has skills but a very low IQ which makes it hard to be a tender .. maybe switch him to defense

T.O.
Bono is a great shot stopper, but he has poor command of the box and his distribution is awful.

Toronto FC has frozen Jozy Altidore out of first-team training - ESPN

Toronto FC has told striker Jozy Altidore to train on his own and apart from the first team following a disagreement with manager Chris Armas, sources have told ESPN.

The sources added that Altidore was upset at being replaced by Ayo Akinola in the 70th minute of Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Orlando City, and confronted Armas over his decision to take him off with the Reds in need of a goal. The sources added that Altidore hasn't been fined.

The development is the latest sign that Altidore wants out of Toronto. Back in January, with rumors swirling about a potential transfer involving the U.S. international forward, sources told ESPN that Altidore's relationship with GM Ali Curtis had reached a breaking point over his contract.

Back then sources told ESPN that the years and money remaining on Altidore's current deal was the main sticking point. Altidore signed a three-year extension in 2019 that runs through 2022. A source said the deal has a no-trade clause. According to the MLS Players' Association, Altidore's 2021 guaranteed compensation is $3.6 million, and he expects to be paid in full.

Toronto FC, who have won just a single game this year and face defending MLS Cup champions Columbus Crew this weekend, said the situation was an "internal matter," according to general manager Ali Curtis.

Given Altidore's contract, a trade within MLS would be difficult to pull off unless Toronto picks up a significant portion of his salary. A move abroad is a possibility with the primary MLS transfer window set to close on June 1. Even then, the secondary window opens on July 7, meaning Altidore wouldn't have to wait much longer for a deal to get done.

Earlier in the year, a source told ESPN that one Liga MX side had been interested in acquiring Altidore.

Jozy has been useless for a while now. Yes he used to be great, yes he's a legend, and yes it would be great if it didn't end on a sour note. But the frustration is evident. His contract and presence seem to be handcuffing the team.

I agree there are no other options on the squad right now, but they could use the DP spot and money in a better way. It's just constant drama with this guy and his play just isn't worth that headache anymore.

Bad news for Toronto FC: Altidore on the outs and Soteldo sidelined by injury - New West Record

Toronto FC needs a win, not another injury or self-inflicted wound.

But this week's welcome news that Spanish playmaker Alejandro Pozuelo is expected to make his season debut Saturday at Columbus (2-2-2) has been overshadowed by news that the club's two other designated players have been sidelined for vastly different reasons.

Toronto (1-3-2) confirmed Friday that Venezuelan international winger Yeferson Sotledo has a hamstring injury. The hope is Soteldo won’t be out longer than four to six weeks.

.......................

Toronto’s woes grew Friday when the Venezuelan Football Federation, in a post on its official Twitter feed, revealed the injury to Soteldo, who has made four appearances since joining the team from Brazil’s Santos FC on April 26 in a $6.5-million transfer.

GM Ali Curtis said the injury was only confirmed late Thursday afternoon, adding the club had not expected the Venezuelan federation to announce it.

It’s been that kind of season for Toronto, which has taken steps forward only to stumble backwards.

Pozuelo, the league’s reigning MVP, has been out since suffering a thigh injury in preseason. Toronto has won just two of 10 games (2-5-3) in all competitions without him this season. Armas says Pozuelo is healthy and will likely see some action, although he wouldn’t predict how much.

It has been a complete b*lls up since Seba left .. we could have won 1 more championship for a couple million more per year .. and he wanted to stay .. this new coach trying to enforce his system onto players who play a possession game .. and he changed tenders to a guy who is as smart as a brick
