Rangers are in the market for a #4 defenseman? And for a first rounder coming off a stellar playoff?

I have a feeling that this can easily be refused.

On the left, we have Skjei, Staal, Smith, and Gilmour. Spending a first rounder for Gardiner doesn't make sense for us. We can refuse it. Gardiner isn't meeting a need.

The thread title says it all.

To NYR - Jake Gardiner
To TOR - 1st round pick in 2018

This is equal value. This is a deal TOR cannot refuse and this is a deal that NYR cannot refuse.
Are you serious?
Perhaps you should take a break from the proposals.

You might want to check your math. The Rangers have no need for a left-handed dman who is 1 year away from free agency.

Both teams say no
I’d rather have 26th overall than Gardiner and we don’t really need him. Yes we need top 4 D but Gardiner is not the kind of guy we need

Unless the Leafs were able to sign John Carlson this would be stupid, you DO NOT create unnecessary holes in your lineup.
