Great move for Leafs. Guy has the tools but no toolbox. Most importantly in todays game he has speed. I really do think he can do well as a tween in another org.

Leafs need guys who can kill penalties in the bottom six. Is he any good on the pk? Don't watch a lot of Sharks games.
He wasn’t counted on to PK very much with the Sharks. Gregor’s best attribute is that he is fast, very fast. He‘s best used as a F1 pushing the defensemen back out of his own zone and getting in on the forecheck. His biggest problem is that he can’t put the puck in the net even on a breakaway.

Not really. He's fast and a little bit physical, maybe he can fit in a good PK scheme, but he does t really have a ton to offer defensively and he is totally inept offensively.

He's a worthy tweener at least, and that has value.

You see the first line you wrote?

It makes no sense.

If he has all the tools but no toolbox then it won't be a great move.

Probably just to meet the minimum NHL requirements for players dressed for exhibition season.

Interesting, the only spot that would appear to be up for grabs is Lafferty

Don’t know how you’re getting to this conclusion - there’s a spot on the 4th line up for grabs (C/LW)

Bertuzzi-Matthews-Marner
Domi-Tavares-Nylander
Knies-Kampf-Jarnkrok
XXX-Lafferty-Reaves

Gregor,McMann,Holmberg, Gambrell etc are all fighting for this spot

They can if he takes Lafferty spot.

Then you send down Jones, Holmberg, Robertson and Gambrell.
If Robertson is sent down then hes done being a legit prospect for us

He should be given every chance to earn a spot

If hes got a good training camp work a deal for Jarnkrok and adjust him in

If hes meh, then Id say time to cut bait

The other guys are AHL/NHL tweeners sk its fine to send them down

Sounds like Dan Paille

Someone mentioned a PTO with the Leafs about a week ago.

He should play in the NHL this season though. Just not sure if it’s with the Leafs or someone else. If he ever tightened his game up, he can get himself a 2-3 year deal somewhere. Have to think SJ just felt that’s just not in the cards..

He’s one of those players where his feet are quicker than his decision making. He’s also a lunger. So he over pursues sometimes and takes himself out of the play. Those are all fixable things for most players, but there are those who just never get it. They’ll tell you they understand, and go right out for their next shift doing the same exact thing.

Let’s see if there’s a fit. It won’t be over Lafferty though. Lafferty is a much better hockey player.

So you’re telling me if a player has Datsyuk hands, McDavids skating, the size of Shaqueil O’Neil, the endurance and work ethic of David Goggins, Mike Tyson’s fighting ability, Ovechkins shot and your hockey IQ this player wouldn’t be a good player?

Not super familiar with him, saw he had a few fights even though he got tossed in them at least he was willing to battle. Some hits. Some highlights

HIs statline isn't that bad honestly. He could be a decent depth piece and extra competition never hurts in camp.

If I am reading this right, new Engvall. Fast guy who shows up once every 7 games.

He isn’t very good. He can have a spot in the top 9 though to protect Mitch and Pigman. The Leafs 3/4 of the cap on the top 5 forwards.

Could Baby Domi stand in and trade hands with Stammer the Hammer?
