Canucks fan, born in Calgary, was at the parade in 89' (and I share the hate of everything Oilers).

It has to be Joe Nieuwendyk. You wouldn't have #1 on the list without #2.

Fleury is my all time favourite flame, but I'd go with Joe.

1. Iggy
2. Nieuwendyk
3. Fleury
4. Mcinnis
5. Gilmour
6. Kipper/Vernon toss up.

This board is young, Kipper will get this spot for sure. Most people who post here became Flames fans in 2004.

Can't beat Kiprusoff. He was as dominant at his position as any Flames player from 1990-now. He won a Vezina. Best player in the league at his position. How many Flames can say the same thing in that time-span?

My issue with Kipper is that you remove Darryl as coach and the game opens up and he got roasted like a Christmas Turkey. Fleury was a star no matter what. Kipper was propped up by one of the best defensive groups in the league and when that went away he came crashing back to earth.

He got worse towards the end of his career, but there was no denying the heroics of his goaltending during 2004 and the years that followed immediately after. There was a reason he was regarded as the best goalie in the game for a few years.

He got worse as soon as Darryl stepped down. Then improved again when we went back to defense first under Brent, then bad again under Hartley.

Under Darryl:
03/04: 1.70/.933
05/06: 2.07/.923

Under playfair
06/07: 2.46/.917

Under Keenan:
07/08: 2.69/.906
08/09: 2.84/.903

Under Brent:
09/10: 2.31/.920
10/11: 2.63/.906
11/12: 2.35/.920

Under Hartley:
12/13: 3.44/.882

Under Brent & Darryl Kipper had a GAA/SV% of 2.26/.919
Under Playfair, Keenan & Hartley he had a GAASV% of 2.73/.906

I stand by my opinion that Kiprusoff was an extremely overrated goaltender.

Fleury was seriously incredible, he's a large reason I'm a Flames fan at all. He played ferociously and without fear, if Byron could play to his 100% potential, he would be Fleury. Kipper is #3 for me, but considering what Fleury did here and for how long, he gets my vote. Prime Fleury was better than prime Iggy.
