Hey gang ... long time listener, first time caller ... so, first things first: "Wolski and Svatos! They're God's gifts to hockey, the most under-rated prospects ever, sure-fire Hall-Of-Famers, can put the puck in the net with their minds, etc."
That said, here's my question (inspired partly by a handful of comments on this board that the "top 50" list might be improved by developing separate positional lists): Who are the top 5 prospects (less than 10 NHL GP, drafted or undrafted), by position?
I suspect it might look something like:
LW: Ovechkin, Crosby, Vanek, Michalek, Ladd
C: Carter, Parise, Malkin, Schremp, Brule
RW: Kostitsyn, Grigorenko, Stewart, Tukonen, Perezhogin
D: Phaneuf, Suter, Barker, Whitney, Grebeshkov
G: Lehtonen, Toivonen, Ouellet, Montoya, Bryzgalov
Foregoing the obvious debates about how to carve up the rankings at each position 1-5 (plenty of extant threads to that effect), who would you list in the top 5 (in any order you like) at each position?
