Should be everyone's top 3 in some order. These are the 3 best and it's not close.

After that depends what style of center you want. Getzlaf, Backstrom, Schiefle, Tavares, Eichel, Matthews, Stamkos are all viable answers.

I like this way of thinking.

The top three belong on every list. The other two is a combo of the remaining guys.

Top 3 is pretty clear. I would probably put Getzlaf and Tavares right now, despite Tavares' down year. I really fail to see the argument for Backstrom over Getzlaf in some people's lists.

Malkin, Crosby and McDavid in no order should be top 3 on everyones list, the rankings within is less important. After those guys Ive felt that last 5 or so years its been Bäckström, Toews and Bäckström in the tier behind fighting for the last two spots. (Honorable mention but not quite there are Giroux, Bergeron and Tavares)

So because Im fairly conservative about ranking player and want young guns to really prove themselves more than others Ill say:

Bäckström

In no order other than the gap behind the first 3 guys and the last 2.

Not unreasonable to rank Matthews as a top 5 C, though debatable.

9th in scoring for centers, Draisatl is ahead but he played on McDavids wing most of the year so really 8th. He's better defensively than a few guys ahead of him, 2nd in goals, and in the top 5 in takeaways.
