I agree with TO / Mon

but hard to put Winnipeg ahead of Boston / Nashville in my opinion.

Yeah maybe, it's not really possible to answer this definitively
I suspect a higher percentage of residents in Winnipeg care about hockey than Boston/Nashville, and the arena is smaller, and they have the whiteout which is cool.

If I could vote, a slight homer pick for the Islanders in the top 3, but I genuinely believe our atmosphere is that special.

I guess most people would pick their own team. I'm doing the same :). Jets playoffs in the good old days is a city event. Fill the arena inside with an incredibly loud crowd and shut down 8 (?) blocks around the arena to pack it with people and sell that out. No one is thinking about anything but hockey, not baseball, not basketball JUST THE JETS.

Are we just going to take into account the atmosphere in thr building? Or also the scapegoating and death threats?

If it's atmosphere in the building than the top three would be Montreal, Carolina, snd Nashville.

If it's atmosphere in the city and getting lots of attention it's probably Montreal, Toronto, and Boston.

Just my opinion, but I think the coliseum is definitely a top 3 atmosphere come playoff time.

The Islanders arena, Nassau, is the lowest roof in the NHL by a LOT

their fans arent extraordinarily loud or boisterous; wouldnt be including them in a top fans list of anything.

The top 3 markets you listed (no order):

Toronto, Boston, Montreal

Not really sure what you make of your question so I answered it as best as possible. Those are the top 3 hockey markets that I see on the list. Never been to Boston, but I picture them as a legit hockey town. Hope to visit one day.

And before anyone complains about the "suits" in Toronto... there real fans are there too. And there's a ton of them. And a lot of of them know hockey.

Habs fans are pretty crazy watching on TV the atmosphere at the game I can't imagine.
It's something else...

I went to two Habs games at the Bell Centre one weekend sometime around 2016/2017. Saw the Lightning and the Leafs. Both crowds were absolutely electric. It's an absolute blast to be there. Even if you're not a fan, I'm sure you'd love the atmosphere.

Oilers would be much higher in this list if it wasnt for not being in the playoffs the last 3 and then when they make it no fans lol

Based on what? Arena atmosphere? Bar scene? People just generally being excited about how the team is doing?

I'd put Carolina high on a list of gameday/arena atmospheres but low on a list of city-wide engagement. It really depends on what we're talking about here...
