Be interested to see other top 20 lists.......

^ I don't know how you can put Petersson ahead of Hoffman at this point, but other than that I like the list. Maybe bump Weircioch up a spot or two.

Funny to see so many with Lehner as our #1 prospect, I had him there a yr ago & people were making fun. I remember when most had Silfverberg or Zibanejad as their #1? I also had Stone quite high while most had him in the 7th to 9th spot.

Wow! Ceci #2, eh? That is too high for me...I really hope he lives up to the hype but D are so hard to project at the NHL level and I am still a little shy from his relatively poor showing in the summer series and not getting the nod for the WJHC team.

I also have to give higher marks to guys that have already proven they can be NHL players so Wiercioch and Gryba are much higher on my list than others. Zibby is #2 based on his recent play - he has got me excited for his development again (much like the beautiful Kim Beck from back in the day...).

Pretty big drop after that, probably Puemps at 8, and then a mash-up from 9 to 15 or so.

I think people are perhaps putting too much weight in Z-bad's recent great play. I'm trying to think more long term.

Weircioch and Silfverberg are prospects?

I'd love to see a list of a healthy Ottawa senator team where these two guys are not in the starting lineup. They aren't prospects, they're Senators.

Perfect. Except put Gryba at 8 and bump everyone else down one.

Might I add that our depth is phenomenal. Claesson who is 20th could potentially be a number 4-5-6 in the league a couple years down the road.

I still have Petersson higher than most because I still believe in him... He didn't have a great start this season + he got injured but he could still get back with a chip on his shoulder next year... As we learned with prospects like O'Brien and Wiercioch, it's not a good idea to give up on a prospect too fast.

Petersson is still a boom or bust prospect and the boom is very enticing. I think he gives it a try in North America AT LEAST 1 more season.

Concerning Gryba, I'm not entirely sold on him as more than a 6th physical guy. He can log a lot of ice-time and has played better than expected but I don't know. Remains to be seen

We're on Hockey's Future... There's criterias that determines if a player is still a prospect or not. We have to use a concensus or everyone would have different ones... I thought it was pretty obvious but here it is if you want to know more :

Just 1 game... He struggled heavily a few games before that one.

You forgot Shane Prince...

So I'm just using this comment as a segue: Am I the only one here that would put Prince FIRMLY in our top-7? I mean, other guys are closer to the NHL than he is due to age, but I have him right after Noesen on the top list.

My Top 10
1) Lehner
2) Zibanejad
3) Silf
4) Ceci
5) Stone
6) Noesen
7) Prince
8) Weircioch
9) Puempel
10) Da Costa (Though he's going to get knocked out of the top-10 real soon, IMO)

I'll give Gryba an honorable mention here, but dude's almost 25. I have a hard time calling him a prospect anymore...

OK I'm starting to sound like a Wiercioch homer, but what makes Prince better or more deserving of a higher ranking than Wiercioch?

Different positions, so it's hard to compare, but Prince I think we can all agree has 2nd or 3rd line potential. His play in the AHL is indicating that he has a good chance of getting there (but still not a sure thing).

PW is a 3rd pair D at least. At this very moment. He has 2nd pair potential and possibly more. #3 two-way D-man I think is reasonable. Given that he's already in the NHL, his chances of getting there are better than Prince's.

So, why should Prince be ranked higher?

First thing: #3 two-way defenseman is Weir's ceiling, IMO, not a "reasonable" projection. I see him much more as a #4 guy, but that's just me.

Anyways, I think Prince is showing more in his game right now than almost any other prospect in our system (not in the NHL).
He's improved more than any other prospect, IMO, and I think his ceiling is much higher than Weir's. Weir is closer to the NHL right now, obviously, but I think ranking prospects is a projections game, and Prince is projecting to be the better player. To me, at least.

I think Wiercioch is playing like a #4 right now, or close to it. Putting good numbers on a low scoring team. Not really making mistakes out there defensively either.

I don't think Prince has 1st line potential, and I doubt you think that either. #3-4 D is at least = to 2nd line winger. Wiercicoh is more of a sure thing.
