Wanted to make a thread for people (the non-experts like myself) to post their rankings rather than have numerous threads of people's rankings.

So, without further ado, here are my top 100 prospects and top 25 goalie prospects. I took multiple scouting reports into account, as well as my overall knowledge of these prospects from both seeing them play and the general consensus of each player.

Just for fun and out of some boredom in the dog days of the NHL offseason. Cutoff is 40 NHL games played.

I'm sure I may be missing a few. Would love to see other people's rankings as well.

Not a bad list. I think Zadina is a bit high personally. Also feel that a guy like Drake Batherson is easily within the top 100 prospects.

Honestly lists that have Heiskanen outside of the top 4 just show the OP's dont know what they are talking about. His season was rivalled by only Petersson in terms of how impressive it was and was one of the most impressive non NHL D+1 seasons in a while. There are scouts who 100% think he is the better play right now compared to Dahlin yet so many posters dont even realize that because he isnt talk about nearly as much (Those same scouts think Dahlin has higher potential but dont think the gap is remotely as big as many here seem to think)

No Rasmus Anderson from Calgary?
Interesting. He is neck and with Valimaki for iur top prospect.

Good catch. Don't know how I missed him in my rankings. I would slide him somewhere in the high 50's early 60's range.

It wasn't that I am not high on Heiskanen. I don't think the gap from 1-9 is very large at all. Dahlin and Svechnikov are future franchise players in my opinion, which is why I have them #1 and #2. These rankings are based more upon the player's overall potential than it was based upon NHL readiness. Heiskanen is an elite, blue-chip prospect and will for sure be an elite #1 defenseman in this league.

Cal Petersen seriously underrated on the goalie list

He's the Kings second best prospect and these are the same Kings that developed Jonathan Quick, Jonathan Bernier, and Martin Jones
I agree, he's soooo underrated. I think he was like 37th on the HFpoll. That's ridiculous.

Tolvanen is definitely too high for my liking, I would take Heiskanen and Mittlestadt over him.

Also, Juolevi is criminally underrated here. How is Kole Lind or Dahlen (let alone other prospects from other teams) listed higher? Also no Rasmus Andersson.

Another one I realized is that you have Adam Fox rated higher than Jusso Valimaki. Dermott should be higher than Smith, Dobson, Timmins, Bouchard, etc.

Interesting list

Already responded re: Rasmus Andersson.

I am higher on Fox than Valimaki and I don’t think Dermott’s upside is as high as the guys you listed. We can agree to disagree.

Valimaki criminally underrated as a prospect. The guy's going to push for an NHL job in hid D+2 season on a team with a deep back-end.

Don't get how Ingram is always so low in goalie rankings? His CHL numbers are only bested by Hart, his rookie numbers in the AHL are on par with Demko and better than any of the other NA goalies ahead of him. He's much closer to top 10 than almost out of a top 25.

Connor Timmins not being in this list has to be the biggest oversight by a significant margin.

The dude should be well inside the Top 100 and very close to the Top 50 if he's not in it.

EDIT: Nevermind, found Timmins at 32. But he is not a member of Montreal Canadians...

Heiskanen below Mittelstad and Necas is a joke lmao. Tolvanen should also not be higher.

I have already stated that I don’t see that much of a difference between the top 9. In my opinion, 3-9 might as well be interchangeable.

I tended to be a little more forward heavy in my analysis but I wouldn’t put that as a slight or an indictment on Heiskanen’s ability. I still have him as the #2 defensive prospect. If I am building a team from scratch, I am probably taking a game breaking forward over Heiskanen.

That’s obviously my opinion and preference, which is why this is posted on a Hockey message board and not on the Athletic. Let’s see your top 100.

It's official: Olli Juolevi is the most underrated prospect outside the NHL. After the season he had, he's definitely a top 30 prospect. He was (eventually) the #1 defenseman on a men's league team and put up very strong numbers for a 19 year old, not too far off from what Heiskanen was doing. Why the hate?
