They’re the greatest center combo in their generation. So naturally they would have to be near the top in the modern era.

Lemieux-Francis
Crosby-Malkin

I’d say that’s the top 4. Tough to pick one of Yzerman-Fedorov/Sakic-Foppa, because they had success in the same time frame and against each other. I’d rank the Avs combo ahead of the Wings, personally.

Mikita-Esposito had a few years together at Chicago IIRC, but Espo didn't break out until later on for the Bruins so not really a fit here.

Thanks for thinking of Trottier/Sutter. If you evaluate based on all 200' of the ice and include all aspects of play (including PK, hitting, faceoffs, shot-blocks), then they could be top 5.
