So in Feb 2022 the Flames basically traded a 1st round pick, a 2nd round pick/prospect (Heineman), and a 5th round pick for Toffoli. In June 2023 we traded him away for a 3rd round pick and a 5th round pick/prospect (Sharangovich).
I think someone got fleeced.

Meh. He was decent a couple yrs ago. Worst case it fails. I don’t mind taking a chance considering tofolli is a pending ufa next yr.

Sharangovich is better than a 5th come on now, hes ppg is pretty similar to toffolis before this magical yr at 31

I don't hate it as much as some. Yegor is decent. He's not amazing, but he's a 25 year old third liner, at least he's a good age. We knew that at least some of these trades weren't going to be strictly futures.

I'm guessing Toffoli was mostly getting offers of a 2nd, and it's really not a big deal to take a young top 9 forward and a 3rd instead tbh

I'm okay waiting to see how he plays before making judgments. He has skill. Let's see if maybe we can turn him into a legit top 6? 24/22 a yr ago isn't bad at all. He's not a Toffoli level player obviously. I just hope we don't overpay. He hasn't got a contract yet.

There was no rush to trade him. Toffoli isn't the type to pout, you could've waited until the deadline and got a desperate team to pay more.
