What would it take?

It would take the Blackhawks GM, coach, and a few other people getting fired, then a management/coaching staff that has no previous ties to the organization and no attachment to the fans to be hired.

That organization won't trade him. It just won't happen.

'Mecca' of Hockey
3-time cup winner, definitely overpaid at $10million but he is their #1C regardless. Who do the Habs have to offer to help centre the Hawks' top line? Drouin ?

Not a good fit, even though its enticing to get a #1C and a goalie from the Hawks (who is from Montreal btw) in the package. This definitely helps out the Habs in their rebuild but not the Hawks.

You can definitely load up the offer with picks, prospects, etc but that doesn't get Bowman to flip the switch on the trade because he still is out one #1C.

Haha well this thread was good for a laugh at least. Pretty much every proposal has been utterly ridiculous with a 0% chance of happening.

I don’t know why other MTL fans don’t want Toews. He’d be a great fit for us. As long as we keep Poehling and our 1st, I’d be willing to package something to acquire him full price

If New York got Ryan Mcdonagh for Gomez. Then Hawks should get a lot more for Toews however don't think Mon has more to offer.

he isn't the 1C he used to be and he's overpaid

He’s still one of the best two-way C in the game and he might be overpaid, but not that much. Wait until Matthews, Laine, Tavares etc.. sign their new contracts. ~10M/year is the new norm for 1C and elite scorers
