That is what I thought. Bernie was like the team's MVP last season so I guess they start equal.

This is the type of high character guy Greiss is. That’s why the islanders fans love him not only for his play on the ice. He’s a good guy.

Greiss is a good foot soldier. Very likeable by all accounts, including this one. An easy guy to root for. Same could be said about Bernier. In the end, I'm glad Detroit has as much goaltending depth across the two roster spots as they do. A lot of NHL teams have some really questionable backups.
