One thing I can't wrap my head around even after several rewatches is the fact that Levy hired Herc to work for his law firm knowing he was a narcotics officer. Also when Marlo sees him at his office after giving Levy his cell phone number. Seems very sloppy on both of their sides. Did I miss something?
I think that one is less about the specific individuals involved, and more about showcasing an example of the "revolving door" between police and Private Investigators & Security jobs for officers that have been removed from the force. Even when they're out of the police, they're still playing a role in the system

This show is straight up too depressing for a rewatch. I attempted a rewatch maybe a month ago, got through a couple of episodes and felt my energy being drained because the show is a little too real. Kind of a testament to how good it is.

It's a show about corruption. He literally buys a cop as an "in" to the narcs. It seems pretty smart tbh, as long as he's corrupt to the point that he goes down with the ship if anything happens.
