The Fours, near the Garden, is a great sports bar and the food is good. It's the consummate Boston sports bar, with lots of memorabilia, and sandwiches named after Boston's sports figures. Get the Bobby Orr.

The Fours is usually filled at least an hour before game time. Number of good bars in Quincy Market on the way to the Garden from Tremont St. And they won't be as crowded.

Oh, and it's Common as in Boston Common, capital C, singular. Enjoy your stay.

One of my pet peeves. That, and Boston Gardens vs Public Garden. The Garden has hockey, the Gardens is where the duck statues and the swan boats reside.

heading to Boston in July for the Petty concert, typically we stay with a friend who was working there but he`s been transferred, looking for a nice spot, downtown or close enough that we aren`t using the T line for an hour to stay at. Safe neighborhood. Were not looking for a dive though, don`t mind paying for good quality, thanks muchly

Trust me - the only way you do Raynham to TD Garden in 25 minutes is with a State Police escort. Realistically it is 40 60 minutes.

Hotels near TD Garden are not cheap so a lot depends if you want to party after the game. Another option is driving from Raynham to the Quincy/Adams subway station.

But there is no way you can drive it in 25 minutes.

I've been to watch the Pats in NY and Buffalo, but never been to Gillette to watch a game, been there for a visit but not to catch a game.

I'm wondering if there are any hotels near Gillette, which ones would you recommend between Gillette and also Wrentham Village since we will most probably be shopping on the Saturday. A nice cheap hotel with maybe a pool for the kids

Also any zones to avoid when purchasing my tickets since we will bring our 2 kids ages 7-5?

It is convienient before the game, to park and just head up to the ice/court, however the spaces are very narrow, the crew makes you back into a spot, and leaving after is nearly always a hassel. Going to the Garden:

-Doors open an hour before game time, i.e., 6:00 for a 7:00 game, 12:00 for a 1:00 game, etc.
-Warm ups are open to anyone, and you can get as close to the ice as you want until game time in which you will forced to go to your assigned seat.
-The TD Garden does not serve alcohol to anyone under 25 with an out of state ID.
-The proshop is located on the same level as the train station in the Garden, before going up the stairs/escalators to enter tha game. It is open before and after the game on all game days, and business hours on non-game days.
-Bruins practices in Wilmington are typically opened to the Public, unless otherwise noted.

Understanding the language:


barrel - a trash can, garbage can
blinkahs - automobile directional signals[34]
Bubblah – drinking fountain.
Bulls**t - has a second meaning of "very angry"
clam diggers - short pants worn in the summer time
"clickah/channel changer" - a television remote control

Moving to Boston? A few things to Consider:

-You should not recognize the letter “R†as a part of the English language.

- You should learn to tell the difference between a Revere accent and a Dorchester accent.
- You should know how to pronounce the names of towns like Worcester, Billerica, Gloucester, and Haverhill.

If you have a car try BSSC. They have fixed night leagues (MWF, TTh, Sunday). You can join a Greater Boston league, but that still requires driving sometimes (though you'll have games you can walk to).

Anything from very fine dining to late night/pub food, and the best desserts in the city (wars are fought over Mike's Pastry vs. Modern Pastry).

But the nightlife is not that strong, more bars and restaurants than actual dance clubs. For that you can head to Fenway, Quincy Market, or the Back Bay and Seaport region. The Seaport is probably the best for that, it's new and trendy. Not very far from TD Garden, but probably a cab/Uber is needed.

Note that last call varies from ~12:00 to a legal maximum of 1:30 AM. This varies according to the liquor license owned by the establishment (or however early they feel like kicking you out). Yes, we are still very Puritan in some ways.
