Continue the discussion, but let's try to remember to be open-minded. Varlamov is innocent until proven guilty. The woman in question is not automatically a "gold digger" for bringing this to light either, this could all be legitimate, let's try to remember that.

Try to keep the discussion civil if someone is going to provide more headache's and not be a contributing member to the thread you will find yourself thread banned, is everyone understood?

I'm inclined to side with Varly due to a personal experience with an ex-gf who threatened to sue me because I dumped her which caused her emotional stress. I told her if she did, I'd bring the hospital bills that she refused to pay for when she got on web-md and freaked out and went to get tests for no reason. She left me alone after that.

I think originally she said Monday, but..I guess with all the confusion of it being an overnight thing it was a mix up as it was early Tuesday morning. Hence the incorrect info given originally to police.

Neither the bicycle or the "beaten" unconscious story is from this event, if it ever happened to begin with. Happened in Russia. I assume it's the same case with the attempted drowning.

Varlys lawyer will bring up all the inconsistencies in the story in cross examination without a doubt. She will have to testify to get anything to stick. That is if this even gets to court.

Those were allegedly the other times that happened earlier but still I wonder about no bruises or anything on her face.

This happens on Maledives as she stated in interview. Don't know how Police on Maledives works, but it looks like even worse than in Russia if Varly came ther, beat her up and left the country without any problem.

Snap judgement based on little information:
I imagine the domestic violence portion of all of this is probably pretty straight forward. What I find very interesting/alarming is the kidnapping charge. That's a pretty serious charge to sling at someone. Given their (Varly + Accuser) situation, I'm curious to see how they go about prosecuting that charge.

I'm in the middle but no denying matters of the heart can get testy. I've seen friends get into heated arguments with there GF's and problems sprung up because they grabbed there wrists. While that's still wrong and IMO stupid because as a man you gotta be aware that you simply can't use ANY contact or else you could spend the night in jail it doesn't make that guy a complete and utter piece of ****.

Any Nuggets fans remember the Birdman incident? I rushed to judgement after that and made me look pretty silly. She's throwing out some pretty bad accusations so hopefully they get to the bottom of it. Be hard to root for Varly if he's throwing bikes at women and getting drunk for 9 hours a day tho.

@SlavaMalamud translator did a terrible job IMHO, added her own interpretation of statements. Yevgenia seemed a bit sedated.

@BizarreJester I had the same impression about the translator.

Vavrinyuk says Varlamov tried to drown her in a puddle last summer, dropped a bike on her as she lay unconscious.... I won't comment.

If this has been a reoccurring thing, I would think that SOMEONE had to notice with the line of work she is in. She must have to show some skin as a model eventually and nobody at work noticed? odd.

I believe the translator is the lawyer's wife or fiance, based on what I've heard.
