Villeneuve did a few movies before his career skyrocketed in Hollywood post-Incendies. Polytechnique was pretty well-received, though it's not an easy watch. Maelstrom too, but I think I was too young to appreciate that movie back then.
Fun fact: Since the Forum was long gone when the movie was filmed, the hockey scenes in "The Rocket" were done at the Québec Colisée. Guess you can't fake that old building feel.
