I think "race" is the wrong word. It's more of a crawling contest now that probably no one will hit 90 Points... :shakehead

I honestly have no idea who will win the Art Ross. I'd be shocked for any player to hit 90 points tbh, this race has been terrible for points. I have no idea why either, scoring isn't down from recent years at all.

This is easily the worst offensive season I've ever seen. Probably the worst Ross finish since World War II.

If no one hits 90, it will be the lowest since 1968 when Mikita had 87 points in 72 games (not including lockout seasons). Let's say that the leading scorer gets 90 in 82 games, that would be the lowest PPG for an Art Ross since 1954, where Bernie Geoffrion had 75 points in 70 games. 90 points in 82 games would be the 3rd worst in NHL history, behind Geoffrion's 75 in 70 in 54-55 and Elmer Lach's 61 in 60 in 47-48. And it may be a stretch for anyone to hit 90 points this year. If anyone finishes below 88 points in 82 games, it will jump up to 2nd worst all time.

I don't know, Brad Richards looks like he's really slowing down. Backstrom seems a better bet to me.

And I will be shocked if Crosby doesn't hit 90.

Sid has 34 points in his last 39 games for a PPG of 0.87.

To hit 90 points, he needs 32 points in his last 26 games. That's a PPG of 1.23.

He needs to turn it on if he wants to hit 90.

Caps vs. Pens. Isles vs. Canes. Jackets vs. Flyers. Stars vs. Blues. But Seguin is out.

This will be another big night. Kane will likely keep his spot as the #1 scorer. But Crosby/Backs/Ovechkin/Voracek/Tavares can all catch up on him.

Going to be interesting.

Tavares with 2 points tonight

All the people who say he isn't a PPG player can also be quiet

Crosby tied for 5th now. If he doesn't kick it in gear soon, he's going to be breathing fumes.

Current estimates (multiple methods):

Kane 89
Crosby 86
(Seguin 86)
Tavares 84
Voracek 84
Backstrom 84
Ovechkin 84
Giroux 81

He was weirdly unnoticeable a lot of the time in that one. Not sure if he's hurt or just lacking in confidence.

Backstrom and Ovechkin are definitely riding high right now though.

And looks like Benn is moving up the charts too.

Sid would need 32 points over his last 25 games to hit 90 points. That's a 1.28 PPG

It's crazy how much Voracek and Giroux have cooled off too.
