Vlad Jr. is hitting .392/.446/.657 with more extra base hits than strikeouts in Double-A so far. Ho hum.

At the same age, Mike Trout was in A+/AA (he has an August birthday so he turned 20 during his AA season while Vlad Jr. will turn 20 in spring training 2019). Vlad is doing better than him at that level (walking the same, striking out half as much, with more power).

The one thing he needs to work on his defense. I would want him to come up to the majors being able to play at least one position well (whether that's 3B, LF, or 1B).

No idea why he is still in AA at this point. Get him to AAA at least.

Here's the thing, if you keep him down in the minors for the rest of the season - you might as well keep him down in April 2019 for 3 weeks and gain the extra year of control and have him from 2020-2025. So either you bring him up quickly here before the Jays sink out of contention or it's not until late April 2019 in my view.

He is to good for minor league pitching period at this point. It really doesn't matter whether he is mashing in AA or AAA.
