I believe the actual quote from Tomlin was something along the lines of “such is life this time of year”
All low-hanging fruit.

“Iron sharpens iron”.... whatever the bleep that means....
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. - Proverbs 27:17 (NIV)

Except he didn't fire him, he kept him on for years knowing that he was a violent abusive piece of shit until it no longer became tenable.Nothing should happen to him. Other people's actions are not his responsibility. He fired the guy and that's that.
Okay I should have used the word "allegedly" in my first post, that's fair enough. No, I don't. You are assuming Meyer knew the extent of the problem, which there is no evidence of at this time.
That's not how presumption of innocence works.I'm going to assume innocence, like we're supposed to in a country founded on liberal values. So, until we have concrete proof, there is no allegedly, there is no maybe, it's he didn't know and nothing else.
What's been reported is that the ex-wife never followed through on charges prior to Smith's arrest last month. Once he was arrested, he was fired. The ex-wife says all the other wives knew, including Meyer's now ex-wife, but there's no proof Meyer himself knew. I'm not sure what Meyer should have done either way? Barring proof of some sort of criminal activity, people's private lives should be their private lives. If Smith was counseling players to be abusive, or if he was being abusive towards the players themselves, sure, Meyer should have taken some action. But firing someone based on rumors or allegations? That's shady, too. Until last week, there was no actual evidence. Once there was, he was fired. That should be the end of it. And it probably will be.So does anyone think that ohio state will face sanctions for Meyer knowing one of his assistant coaches was a domestic abuser???
What do you think happens to Myers who claims he never knew anything and especially his wife who also works at the school and for certain knew of it.

I think someone said in a text convo between the abused exwife and Myers ex wife. Photos were sent back and forth and Myers ex wife texted that Urban didnt know what to think of it all.
Meaning he knew it was going on well before he fired him.
Idk the specifics. But I agree that as a HC you shouldnt be held responsible for your other coaches actions, outside of the facility. They are adults and should conduct themselves as such.
Just listening to Dan Patrick show and he was saying the issue is that his contract states he must report any issue that comes to his attention regarding the program. Don't know if true or even what the language in the contract is but there's that. Still hate the rush to judgement led by media.
