Go ahead.
I regret nothing.

Seriously though...
If you think our offers are unfair...
Just move on.
Nobody forces you to take it.
It take two to tango...
After all.

How many times have you called Vanilla a fleecer the hypocrisy was real with you

I called you out on that, I didn't call you out on making those trades. It's fair game

It's not a bad team, but I value different players.

I think you are in the mindset of building a dynasty (not just 1 year).

The challenging part of this draft, is that its only for next year, but its also based on voting rather than actual production.

So its balance of how they are viewed, personal preference, and the stage of their careers.

At the end of the day, I'm leaning toward players I like.

Doing both makes the most sense. At the end of the 15-16 season we'll see which players really declined or really risen up - that may or actually may not chance much things.

And doing it before allows us to make predictions.

Eh, that still doesn't change that in terms of the vote, the value of how players are perceived will change dramatically during that time. It changes the nature of the game entirely if it becomes a game of predicting who will break out/regress as opposed to simply trying to get the best value based on current perception of players.

I am working under the assumption that this is - build the best team for 15-16 - where is the fun in not reanalyzing the teams after the 15-16 season is over

Like I said doing both is best of both worlds. Shows whos more adept at building roster based on current perception and who actually got results

I'm pretty much just going with who I like

You're absolutely right. It's a mindset that I don't think I can really change either.

I don't see myself winning a ton of votes but I'm happy with my picks so far. 5 picks in and I'm still only at $20 million combined, got a lot of room to add some of the fallers who might be a tad overpaid.

I have been nothing but complimentary towards his trades.
While I did call him a fleecer...
It was in jest...
And I really did not mean it.
However...
I will give you that point.
If Vanilla has a problem with that...
I have already stopped...
And I will gladly apologize.

Here is the thing:
Value is in the eye of the beholder.
You gave what you thought was your best offer...
And I gave you mine.
We disagree.
Move on.
You do not have to complain on and on about unfair offers.
Once or twice is fine...
But it gets tiring...
When you bring it up...
Every other post.
Honestly...
It makes me feel that you are projecting your failure to make a trade on us...
And I think that is just unfair.

Look Lord.
I do like you.
I think you are reasonable...
And you are a true hockey fan.
However...
You are also holier-than-thou...
Because I can pretty much guarantee that if you got our offers...
You would probably have taken them too.
I worked hard to get those trades...
And I will not apologize for them.
I also think I did nothing wrong...
Because if my partner does not agree...
He could have just said no.
It is not like I forced anyone to do things against their will.

Anyway...
I had to get this off my chest.
If I went overboard...
I will apologize in advance.
I have enjoyed our talks...
And I hope they continue.

LOL okay. Let me take a look.

I would take:

Steven Stamkos
Jack Eichel
Tuukka Rask
Jordan Eberle
Cam Fowler

or

- Stamkos (7.5M, 25) - Eberle (6M, 25)
- Eichel (3.775M, 18)

Fowler (4M, 23)

Rask (7, 28)

so a team salary of $28.275M, and an average age of 23.8 years.

compared to:

Erik Karlsson
Pavel Datsyuk
John Klingberg
Evander Kane
Tyler Toffoli

or

Kane (5.25M, 23) - Datsyuk (7.5M, 36) - Toffoli (3.25M, 23)

- Erik Karlsson (6.5M, 25)
- John Klingberg (4.25M, 22)

Team salary: $26.75M, average age: 25.8 years.

I like the way you think.

@nameless1

Not quoting that but I already said that I would do the same trades in your position. I found it strange how you completely left yourself out of the best trading conversation with "no no I'm nowhere nearrr as good as vanilla". That gets tiring to see too

Let's leave it alone now :D

That is because I truly think he is better.
He turned a late mid-3rd...
Into 2 4ths...
Which gives him 3 fourths overall.
It also only cost him an 9th...
Which he promptly got that back with more trades.
I cannot match him.

I am also Asian...
And I was taught to never say I am the best at anything.
Trust me.
I have that lesson beaten into me.

Also...
In this case...
I really am not the best trader.
Others have proven that they are more innovative than me.

You may see it as an effort to deflect attention...
But I am being truly complimentary.
I honestly do not know why being humble bothers you so much.
That really baffles me.

I think people have take my age comments out of context for just next year I would never rate eichel and Sedin the same.

I don't know about anyone else but my drafting strategy would be entirely different if I were predicting for a vote at the end of next season instead of a vote shortly before/after the start of the season.

Well if we are building a team for next year wouldn't having the best team at the end of next year be the point.
