playoffs are top 8 tho no? so 3 from each division an 2 wildcards seems pretty reasonable.

You're not getting me. In the poll we can vote for who we think are the best 4 teams, but still have just the top 3 teams move on to the playoffs, then a wildcard where we choose the top 2 of the remaining teams that were not top 3 in their division.
