oh my Lord - I do not know why any of our regulars from here even bother to argue on the mains about whether Ovie is top 10 of all time / the greatest goal scorer etc.
The amount of bias / ignorance / deliberate trolling is enough to make me give up reading those threads.

Let the numbers speak for themselves. The rest is all just conjecture and opinion.

Penguins fans STEAMING mad!

I mean look, outside of some team stuff and some cool milestones for Malkin and Crosby (500 goals) that's pretty much it for them individually, so that has to be hard.

I know, I know, it's all about the Cups and I get it, but just watching your favorite guys careers wind down and having the regular season mean basically nothing has to kind of suck.

Look how much fun we get to have during a game against the Kings in early February. We are so damn lucky!!

I became a Caps fan in the mid-80s, and for the first two decades that I was a fan they lost games like this because they didn't have the superstar.

For those of you who weren't Caps fans through the leaner years, appreciate what you've got. Because we're spoiled as hell to have had Ovie all this time.

I just dismiss anyone who tries to argue against Ovie's accomplishments. It's not even debatable at this point and anyone who is a real fan of the sport will agree. He's the greatest goal scorer of all time.

I'm not exaggerating when I say 2018 changed sports for me for good. My favorite player on my favorite team in my favorite sport delivered the first championship I can remember or appreciate in my 30+ years on this earth. There's literally nothing Pens fans or anyone else can ever say that will bother me again. Do not give one shit about counting Cups or hearing people talk about Ovi/the Caps being chokers or hearing nonsense about Ovi being a PP specialist or anything else.

The Caps ended the DC curse and now we get to watch Ovi chase another Cup and pass NHL legends on the goal scoring list seemingly every night with a legitimate chance to try and break a record most thought was untouchable. Every single goal he scores is meaningful and fun which makes every game appointment viewing. This is as good as it gets as a sports fan and I'm appreciating every moment.

It's all fun. I do remember early days of Ovi. It was the same, the main board would go crazy about him and some would belittle. That would boil me blood back then, now I'm enjoying the ride. It's so special and rare. Enjoy while it lasts. I'm def gna watch next games to witness the history, even though I'm in the west coast

Empty net goals (usually;)) means a win for the team. No problem with empty net goal .

Yep -love the ENG. And an Ovi ENG means Pens fans and Ovi haters heads explode.

Which for some reason gives me extreme satisfaction.

I got worried when the first time he had the puck, he didn't look for the ENG, but the 2nd go around risked the icing and iced the game proper.

The question created is where does being the greatest goal scorer of all time earn you in the overall ranking? Does scoring that many goals reinforce that he is a one trick pony? That's where the conversation is.

I am focused now on how Ovechkin can score 60 goals while leading the best team in the league and not be the Hart Trophy winner?

Think Oshie will get more Ovi-time after that pass for goal #1 last night.

Also, major fail in not predicting # of GDT pages. Definitely had it at 7. :(

Honestly, I think that swap has more to do with Wilson, the fixer, getting to work on Kuznetsov. 2g 4a in the past 12 games. Not acceptable. Backstrom has 10pts in that stretch. Eller has 9pts.

Kuzy is the difference maker for this team.

Kuzy actually looked pretty good last night - skating hard and pushing play. For the first 54 minutes of the game, I thought he, Eller and Orlov were the only Caps that looked consistently engaged. Fever and Gudas as well, but they had a particular reason to be focused. The rest of the team looked extremely meh. And then #8 (who was himself not particularly committed to moving his feet for most of the game) decided to step up.

Really? I never would have guessed. Didn't realize Kuzy still played with the Caps. Thought this board traded him for Kovy or Bufglien recently.

What a game! (and by that I mean what an uninspired effort for 50+ minutes)
Should've lost, LAK played a pretty good road game
Was there even a check thrown the 1st 40?
After 2-1, we get away with playing for 5 minutes or so and come away with 2 points and an all-of-a-sudden legendary OV performance, lol
25+ games to get it together, at least we didn't take 6 penalties, so that's a +, bottom 6 was decent, Holtby was better than his recent normal

Amen brother! Perfect post that reflects mine and other Caps fans feelings also. And the bonus is he's a great guy.

So true. The Caps had the plumbers and the grinders but players like Fedorov, Sakic, Yzerman, Jagr, etc. always did them in. Caps would be the better for 55 minutes then *Wham!*

It’s nice to be on the other side of the coin.
