I mean... I guess. No wait, nevermind. One thing I will say is that the red and black look is boring and was copied from the Devils.
It's been 19 years, maybe next year the 'Canes should change their look dramatically for the 20th season of play in NC.

18 in Hartford, this season is the 19th in Greensboro//Raleigh. Not always as much success as our fans would like, but there have been a few deep runs, a cup, and the team looks to be on the up & up talent and prospect wise.
It hasn't always been easy (especially the Greensboro years), but I think the market and fans have proven viable, and the longevity has spoken for itself.
Here's to many, many more year's of Hurricanes hockey in this great State
well considering they actually started playing in Hartford back in 1974, I would say they still have a few more seasons to go before they have played more years in Carolina!

Read the thread title carefully.
As a Carolina team, the 'Canes have shared a division with Washington longer than any other Metro team (or Eastern team for that matter) - if Washington isn't Carolina's biggest rival I don't know who is.
Copied the Devils? Never heard that one before.
The Hurricanes share an arena and a very close working relationship with NC State University.
It's pretty easy to see why they chose their color scheme.
Hartford, the Whale? They beat Vancouver once, maybe twice in a lifetime.
yeah but at the cost of the Whalers' uniforms
straight up the best laundry in hockey by a not insignificant margin
Do the Canes ever wear the old throwback Hartford jersey?
I moved to North Carolina from Connecticut. 10 years later the team I've followed since the WHA days followed me south. My friends in CT give me lots of grief for being a fan. I tell them I'm loyal to the franchise and not to the city of Hartford. I'll usually follow that up by telling them that they quit on the team and post a picture of Karmanos lifting the cup. Go Canes!
i kinda wish they did (especially when we played detroit) but afaik, no
