Gillette was the first to recognize the 'Habs' were an undervalued brand.
He was the visionary that put in place the plan to get the value maximized. Boivin and Gainey were part of that plan.

In the end Gillette made out like a bandit turning a $25M investment into $300M profit.

Why Gillete is a wealthy man. He was born with the ability to see the end product. He seen a neglected team, but with new rink and outstanding fan base.

Yes he was No French Canadian or Canadian were interested to buy team at price.Dickie Moore was close but could not get bank help.George is 100 percent the reason the habs are at this stage. The Molson Brewery messed up the habs in the 1990s believe it or not.Thank-you George

I don't see it as a positive. Like a poster said a few years ago, Habs became the Paris Hilton of hockey. Being successful for no reasons.

Also, the Habs have the highest advertisement revenues in the league.

This is where the restrictive CBA and the cap screws us over. We make all this money but can't spend it because Phoenix and Florida need orthopedic underwear.

You also seem to forget, people absolutely hate to play in montreal unless : A. they have no other choice (last resort/trade) B. we completely overpay , or C. your girlfriend is from quebec.

doesnt matter how much money they make, molson still wants to MAKE some kind of profit.

Fold in the fact that The Bell Centre is one of the most packed buildings in North America, and Molson's 600 million investment into the Habs+Bell Centre was a great one. This guy is rolling in dough.

Not surprising, now if they could only put together the right team to actually win a cup or two.
