Win or lose, the profit train rolls on, no need to win. We just need to keep making money.

It does say their peak revenue coincides with the year they went to the Conference Finals. So yes, it's in their best financial interest to win.

Arghhhh.....you beat me too it!!! It's true, the more they win, the deeper they get in the playoffs, this means more $$$$$$$$, I've never bought this the owner is in it for the money and don't care if they win or lose, they don't coincide.

If anything, this shows that Forbes numbers are quite realistic.

Certainly a good business model. At the end of Houle era lot of rumours the Habs may move, they were in dire straits. He seen the potential, had the vision. Cut back on heavy tax Molson center was paying, spend a little to put better product on the ice, retired all those jerseys, 100 anniversary of the team, got a draft here, an all-star game. Re-created quite the hockey buzz in Montreal.

Actually I believe Pierre Boivin was the real brain behind Habs financial resurrection. And of course the currency exchange rate.

Now owners will deny the profits as they still battle to get a tax exemption on Bell Center.

Don't bother, you'll just start making sense and confuse him.

Gillette was the first to recognize the 'Habs' were an undervalued brand.
He was the visionary that put in place the plan to get the value maximized. Boivin and Gainey were part of that plan.

In the end Gillette made out like a bandit turning a $25M investment into $300M profit.
