Don't forget Guds is still pretty young, wasted a year in juniors despite being overly talented for that level because he wasn't NHL ready yet but was too young to send to the AHL, then started right off with an NHL roster spot. He's short on seasoning, and that's made him seem behind the learning curve, but in reality he's probably not seen his peak yet.

By no means am I calling him a bust just yet! Defensemen always take longer to develop. Gudbranson has talent. I think the worst part of his development is that he's never had room for error. His defensive partner has been substantially worse than him all this time. I'm not giving up on him at all. I just think he has been pretty bad, and other than him there's no defender who has made an NHL impact that's been drafted by this team for a very very long time.
