I'll keep this in mind for my next doughnut craving, thanks. Are you talking strictly cakes?
I have never tried any cakes at Wawel (they do make those I'm pretty sure), but their doughnuts are the best I've ever had anywhere in the world. There's no better doughnut than a Polish one IMO, so I might be biased. I call in and order those regularly for any mass gathering/party/event. And I might even cheat and have one myself occasionally, even though I'm vegan. That's how good their doughnuts are. To be clear, we're not talking anything alike your mass-produced doughnuts here, this is artisanal stuff with some classical restraint to it. You won't have any bacon bits or icing sugar here. Just amazingly moist doughnuts filled with 3 or 4 varieties of custard/jam. Everything is made in-house.
Ponki with prune sauce is my favourite: https://www.patisseriewawel.com/nos-specialis?lightbox=i151sw5
Check them out at patisseriewawel.com
P.S. They'll work with you on custom orders as far as the quantity is sufficient for them to make enough profit margin.
Oka is one of my very favourite cheeses. It's made in Quebec - originally by monks, I believe. It melts well and is very versatile. Definitely get it from a cheese shop and try the various ages. I prefer very old, as I do with most cheeses.
I'll try it out next time I get a chance. I've passed the monastery countless times as my friends live on the reservation just a little further west of it. I believe agropur now produces the cheese for them as they have some sort of complex on the same property.
It's produced by Agropur since 1981. Very not hard to find, pretty much any decent grocery store in QC will have 1 or more variety in their cheese section, so apart from historic interest, no need to go to Oka for it.
I go overboard with the potatoes! Peel a bag of potatoes and chop them to the size you like. Par boil them. As the potatoes are boiling cook the bacon, grate your favorite cheese and soften the veggies you would like to add. I use a microwave oven to soften them. Turn the oven on to 300 too. Beat 12 eggs with garlic powder salt and pepper. Heat the giant skillet you’re going to use on medium heat. Add some olive oil to the skillet and brown the potatoes. Once that is done? Turn off the heat add your eggs veggies and cheese. Mix it together and let it stand covered for 10 minutes. Uncover add the bacon and put it in the oven for another 10 minutes or until it firms up. I cook for a family so you can modify the size to your needs. I love sour cream with it and a good rye bread toast.Recipe?

I think I'm bored out of my mind at home so I've ordered meat and decided I will put test out steaks in comparison in a few weeks. AAA vs Australian Wagyu vs Japanese Wagyu.

Never had wagyu because i've never really ever been to a place that serves those.I think I'm bored out of my mind at home so I've ordered meat and decided I will put test out steaks in comparison in a few weeks. AAA vs Australian Wagyu vs Japanese Wagyu.

But even then, I legit couldn't justify myself paying that price just for meat.
- Signed someone who totally does not spend insane amounts on oils, vinegars, truffles and other ridiculously priced imports
Apparently, if you had to try 1 thing from Japan, it's A5 wagyu.
It's not cheap even if doing at home, but all beef is always good. So much good food actually and a must try is Takoyaki, a cheap street food.
There seems to be one in Terrebonne, you don't want to go?Anybody know where I could find an Aberlour 10?? The SAQ is out of it.
Which SAQ? I'll go lolThere seems to be one in Terrebonne, you don't want to go?
I hate how the SAQ will have bottles of things in the middle of no where that they won't ship to another location. There's a rum I've been looking for since trying at my aunt and uncle's place at Christmas. There's 8 of them available 1000 KM away at the SAQ Restauration, so I couldn't get it if I wanted to, and then another one 1100 KM away in wherever the f*** Forestville is.
