The St. Louis Blues' coaching carousel in the early 1970s was pretty amazing.

In 1971-72, Sid Abel gets kicked upstairs to GM after coaching just 10 games, then Bill McCreary Sr. gets fired after 24 games, and finally they stuck with Al Arbour for the rest of the season.

The following year, in 1972-73, Arbour only lasts 13 games before getting fired.

A fun article about the turmoil in St. Louis here.

Not fired but I always found it funny Maurice Richard lasted two games as coach of the Nordiques before deciding he wanted no part of that coaching business.

Maurice was offered mega bucks at the time my dad told me yrs ago.Richard contract was 5 times what the montreal canadiens paid him.But Richard could not handle the daily stresses of dealing with peoples problems.Richard was a very emotional and caring person and being acoach was too hard on him.But Im suprised Richard would give up all that money
