Luck factors every championship in every sport. Whether it's based on upsets from teams outside your control, injuries for or against, posts, flukey goals misses, etc. every team will get luck going their way. It isn't the main reason a team wins but you'll need some luck to win a Stanley Cup, NBA championship, Super Bowl, World Cup, Champions League, etc.

Yep exactly. Luck plays a huge factor in sports. The MLB and NHL in particular are heavily influenced by luck.

I mean take tonight for example. Tampa Wins 1-0, they deserved to win the game, and yet if the puck doesn't bobble on Barzal in the final minute, the game is tied and they go to OT of a Game 7 where literally any one single random play wins the game.

That is luck, and it plays a huge, huge role in determining the winner in hockey.

I hope your not going to try and claim that skill and determination and hard work have very little to do with who wins and that it’s all about luck. As I said earlier, luck happens all the time but skill, effort, and determination have more to do with winning than luck.

Given your statements Buffalo just happens to be unlucky and it has nothing to do with their skill and effort and determination. They’re just one unlucky group of players, coaches, and front office personnel.

Given your statements the Montreal Canadiens of the late 70s were just lucky, the Islanders four year run of cups was just luck and a fluke, the Oilers cup run in the 80s was just because Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, and others were just some lucky SOBs. The Red Wings run ion the late 90's and early 00's was just damn luck again (overcoming the Konstantinov crash and winning the cup the next year was certainly not because of luck). The Blackhawks cups had nothing to do with Toews/Kane/Keith and skills but it was more to do with how lucky they were. Crosby and the Penguins were just lucky when they won. Tampa's two year run to the finals is because of how lucky they are and has nothing to do with Vasilevskiy/Kucherov/Point/Hedman.

C'mon man, get real. Teams that go on multiple cup runs have a lot more than just dumb luck. Sure, you'll get a Cinderella story from time to time that is on a hot streak partly because of luck but the teams that win multiple cups, or are in the playoffs year after year after year are successful because of a lot more than luck.
