Listening to a STH zoom call with Ledecky, both Gillies, and Flatley.. .. some interesting comments by Ledecky on the arena,, 1.5 billon cost

Sync'ed with Amazon Go -- grab and go food..
Pour your own beer,
Kept roof low to keep in the noise,
"scoreboard to end all scoreboards"
5G technology
parking which allows park at Belmont in AM, work in NYC, come back for game
Fabulous for music/concerts (easy in and out access for setup of shows), and the best info yet..
8 bars where you can see ice

"More bathrooms than any arena in North America" LOL.. excellent!!!

and here is a pic of the most important part!
That ice-making machine looks nothing like the one in Brooklyn. How is it powered - I don't see a hamster wheel?

Great report. Thank you.

Still can't imagine that "pour your own beer" idea is going to last...Forgetting Covid/spreading germs in general, I could see people just taking some extra sips/tries before filling up a cup. Not to mention more spills by drunk fools and there will be lots of waste. Oh and what about a 16 year old just walking up and pouring a cup?

I would have gone more Long Island feel. The montauk lighthouse. All American burger in Massapequa. The downstairs VIP at Gossip in Melville. You know. Normal LI things

I also think Belmont Park Arena should have more regional Long Island attractions and symbols in its interior drawings.

If I remember correctly from when this was introduced, the cups have chips in them, so the machine pours when you set the cup in. If you try again, it doesn't pour, so you can't do sips.

The cups have chips? Are beers going to be $15 or more?

And still doesn't seem sanitary and how do they know someone getting a beer is 21?

This is a video of it in action:

Is this a new concept to NY? We have bars down here that are completely self serve. You have a guy checking ID's and the system tracks your consumption and you have to "check-in" after every few beers.

It's not a college kegger where you show up with $5 and get a solo cup.

Won't faster beer vending create longer lines at the bathrooms? They need some kind of high-tech vacuum urinals to counteract this. Or better yet, install these seats:
