I’d like to see them grab Nick Schmaltz.

As for actual prediction:

To Col: Sam Lafferty, Jack Johnson

To Chi: OO

I just wish there was a way to use our first to reactivate the Eric Lindros trade-tree.

Seriously though, I think we stand relatively pat. I'd like to add a middle six winger with term but expect that our first will be saved for the draft (whether actually used or dealt is up for debate and circumstance.)

next move seems obvious to me. bring back NAK from the Caps for a 3rd or some actually decent prospect. they just wont bring back Kadri and Bura because their teams are also involved in the playoffs hunt, otherwise...

btw... thinking about it now... they actually have the cap space to bring Kuemper back too. :scared:

Isn't Forsberg still playing in Switzerland? Is it a little foolish to let that go to waste?

Kinda off topic, but I don't think we give enough credit to EJ, who valiantly played without foot protection until a shot inevitably broke his foot. Without his sacrifice of life and limb, we probably wouldn't even be having this conversation.

‘23 1st, conditional ‘24 1st (condition is Avs reaching the Stanley Cup final in either ‘23 or ‘24), OO and Ranta FOR
Jenner (50% retained)

One can only dream…

Like I said two week ago, Avs need to trade for Schmaltz (2C), Crouse or JVR and another defense like Carrier ou Soucy

Mayfield could be a good addition

So not what I want them to do, but what I think they do?

JVR for Ranta.

JVR plays third line winger, Avs pin Compher as 2C.

Avs take 1st in the Central. They beat Minnesota (wild card) in round 1, lose to Dallas in round 2.

The fire cMac thread starts immediately after.

My Guesses:

Schwartz (full hit) + Brown (50% retention) for Newhook + conditional 1st (playoff performance and top 10 protected) + Beaucage

Groulx for Ranta

My Hope:

Hayes (25% retained) + JVR for Newhook + 1st + B prospect + C prospect

Jensen for 25 2nd + Kovolenko + Maltsev

[EDIT]

Nevermind, I was mistaken. Thought you were talking about Jaden Schwartz and Logan Brown, but then I remembered that Schwartz plays in Seattle now.

I’m personally enjoying how the must adds are trending towards former centres that are now wingers that people still consider centres.

Schmaltz is a winger, guy has take a whopping 82 faceoffs all year. Hates has taken 461…to give some context, Hayes has taken roughly 100 less faceoffs than Compher has won this year. Duchene’s resurgence came as he was converted to RW. JT Miller has taken less faceoffs than Hayes. Now, I fully admit that faceoff stats don’t paint the full picture, but it gives you a good idea of their general usage in the game.

I hope (and believe) we are done. Love the current group. Skill , speed, energy, passion, grit, fight, class all over the ice.

There isn't a better team in any sport , on any country that has a better culture and mindset than our AVS.

I HURT when we lose.players. I get so attached. Also, let's not fix something that isn't broken. Show the current boys some loyalty and let's get that Stanley Cup.

I'm back to believing we are unbeatable each and every game.
