For those who are wondering, Rogers' exclusive deal with the NHL expires at the end of the 2025-26 season, so two more years of this junk.

Financially the investment has been a massive failure for Rogers and it's fair to say that the landscape will change dramatically when the deal is up.

The positive thing about the Sportsnet highlights on youtube is there are no adds in europe, if you have to watch it with a device without add blocker. Watch the same highlights on the NHL youtube channel you have a minimum of 5 add breaks.

ITs terrible. That isn't even talking abou tthe apps that are attrocious.
I'm talking about the fact that you can no longer pick the feed that you want and don't get to choose the Home or Away feed. I am a devils fan and I want to listen to the intermission talk about my team and not the opposing team.
Funny enough the site where i watch NHL and other Hockey games has all of that.
All feeds are provided, which just shows how badly the NHL does it if a free site does it better then they do.
Of course the free site does not have any contract problems, because they don't care about that, but still in this day and age i would think that it is possible for a League that has their own distribution of games to give me all of them. And other leagues just have one, maybe two broadcast partners (Bundesliga with DAZN and Sky and highlights are free on german television done with great radio commentators). There is no blackout nothing.

I never understood why the NHL doesn't do it like that too. Just sell the rights to all games to one or two companies. And you could do the same for Canada too.

I get my Oilers highlights from a reddit user who clips games and puts the highlights on r/hockey. I think other teams have users that do the same. Better product compared to the Sportsnet package, and also in a higher quality than 720p.

Yeah well when the alternative is a paid and worst service , they forced our hand
Sure if you’re entitled and think everything should be free.
Not to mention everyone complains about the quality of pirating.
I get 4K games most nights to watch.

That’s a big post to read, but what I want to say is that local channels should have rights to show the games along with the national networks

The main reason this needs to happen is to get rid of blackouts and TO GET BACK TO HAVING HOMER ANNOUNCERS!

I want to watch someone get as excited as I get when I watch the game.

Highlights these days are brutal. I feel like back at the start of the 2000s we got longer highlights and highlights for more games.

Now all our highlight shows are just Canadian teams followed by a few minutes of poor coverage for said Canadian teams.

YouTube has taken over a lot of the hockey stuff (aside from actual games) for me

The Leafs Nation
Jonny hawkey
Hockey psychology
Eck
SDPN (I dislike the chubby white guy, but whatever)
The Hockey Guy
Locked on Leafs
The Leafs Convo

Why are you guys paying for something that's completely free is my question? Cut the cables.

Quality on streams is absolute dogshit

Sportsnet isn’t perfect but it’s better than my kids having to see pop ups of porn ads and chat rooms that say the N word
