Teams just aren't that high on Byram? Could both us and Chicago both pass on him if he's projected to be a #1. Is he the Cam Fowler of this year?

TBF Boldy is underrated here. He plays a pro game. Really high floor and he's got more upside than people think.

His size and skating combo scares me. He has great skills and a good brain but I just don’t know if a 5’8 player with meh skating can be an elite player.

If teams don’t feel he is a future #1, there are others that they’d prefer more. Then those that even prefer #1C types could have him down the list, but still 4/5/6

I think many of the US team kids are underrated outside of Hughes, Turcotte, and Zegras. The depth on that team was unreal and I think will lead to some steals. The shutdown center (Beecher) has legit 2 way top 6 potential and can really skate... yet has little to no first round hype.

I would be fully on board with the Avs trading up into the late 1st to grab him. He'd be a stellar 3C with a chance of being a 2C if all goes right.

Yeah picking Zegras over Byram could still backfire but I would be fine with it. If they take Dach over Byram though I will be pretty upset.

Still praying the Blackhawks shock the world and pass on Turcotte. He'd be perfect.

I think Nolan Foote is way better then the 66th best prospect in this draft imo. I would be stoked if he landed with the Avs in the 2nd round. But I admittedly have not watched tape on a lot of these players.

Foote is a player who shoots, sadly nothing more than that. Should become a decent player, but he's not a very engaging prospect and why he fell on my list. Also as @SoundwaveIsCharisma mentions his skating very meh as well. A lack of energy, not good skating ability, and doesn't use his size well enough for me is a combination to drop.

You really think he has the offense to be top six? I see him as more of a high floor Shane Bowers type where he's a safe bet to be an NHL player, but more in a bottom six shutdown role than in a scoring capacity.

Could be you're underrating Bowers too?

ETA: Not saying I think Bowers gets there per se, but I think the upside is there for a 2C.

I do... it is untapped, but it is there. With the USNTDP he has never played above a 3rd line center role (and has played 4th a lot) with heavily slanted defensive minutes and little PP time (I think he has 3 power play points all season)... he is a victim of being a role player on a generational US group. Just buried and no real shot at top 6 opportunity. Now he doesn't have super high end vision or the greatest hands in the world, but they are more than capable. His speed gives him a different dimension and one that is hard to stop (straight line top end speed, he might be the fastest skater in the draft). He is going to be incredibly effective at entering the zone with possession, forechecking, and creating chances off the rush. He isn't going to make that behind the back sauce for a tap in, but he will barrel through defenders, get a decent shot and be able to grid away chances.

I wouldn't pick him at 16, but in the 20s-on, I'd say he has as good of shot of being a 2nd line guy as anybody left in the draft while bringing a size/speed dynamic that could be real dangerous if the hands come around.
