We already lost to them.

Besides, it’s a lottery. We have a 51% chance of drafting 4th.

Start scouting Stutzle, Perfetti and onwards.

Laf, Byfield and Raymond should be gone when we pick.
And those odds go down the higher we finish...

Minnesota is a whole other level of bad.

IMO our strength lies in the fact that even with Lafeniere or Byfield we finish 31st or 30th in 2020-21 no doubt (look at Hughes,Hischier,Patrick... all struggling with bad teams and we are way worst then these teams)
Wich should lend us another top 5-ish pick
Same for 2021-22 but that just me
We NEED top5 picks 3 years in row to see the light some day
On pace for 41 points
Not many people predicted that
Speculation: - Season Record and Placing Predictions

And its still October. We're in silly season right now. Some teams are still playing their kids on their 9-game tryouts, and rosters aren't quite 100% set yet.

It's usually around the end of November that a lot of teams start finding their groove, and after January where the contenders start to emerge.

apparently he's been a lot better than his numbers suggest

I haven't tuned in to watch the Panthers yet, may be that the team is still adjusting to Quenville. I don't know anything about the back-up in Florida, would having a guy like Anderson in that role help with the transition?

Yes they paid him 10 mill to be a backup

Bit of a leap suggesting Bob would be regulated to b/u duties if the incoming goalie was 38 yrs. old, in the last year of a contract, and resides in Coral Springs (about 20 min from Sunrise ... where the Panthers play), but sure, ok.

Haven’t we all known this since the summer? The hard part is accepting it and still following the team all season.

It’s not for the faint of heart, rebuild year one, doesn’t get much more grim. We as Sens fans haven’t been treated to a bottom dwelling team since expansion, we’re not conditioned for it like Edmonton fans for example.

Too bad that because of Edmonton, it's a lot harder to rebuild just by being last. Greater chance to pick 4th is truly an awful reward for how bad we'll be.

Feels like this is year 3 of the rebuild.

Feels like forever for sure, but no this is year one. Last TDL was the main course fire sale, with EK being the appetizer, and Smith and Ceci being dessert.

We have really sucked for two years, but this is the first year where we have the roster to legitimately finish last on paper, from day one. Finishing lastish for two years when you’re trying not to is not the same feeling, at least to me anyways.

The good news is that we have good reason to finish last this time, rebuilding from the ground up, and the kids have at least looked pretty good so far doing it.

In a year where we have to slog through as fans, with the payoff being the potential for some excellent players to draft, the PK is actually a pretty good spot to shine as its fun to watch, but being good at it doesn’t really affect the standings all that much!

This team should get a little better each year now going forward, ideally.... ;)
