This is nothing against Marty Biron, but Hedberg is tremendous in the locker room. He also is very good for spot starts. What you don't want him for is if your number one guy goes down for a long period.

Realistically though, would we want Marty Biron much more than Hedberg if Lundqvist were to go down? At this point in both of their respective careers, I don't believe the difference is that big between the two. If Lundqvist goes down this team is done cakes regardless of who the back up is (sans a Quick or Rinne).

If Hedberg has a great camp and signs for 600K then I could see Biron to FLA for a pick for cap space. Talbot is a talented guy as the 3rd.

I rather have Biron but maybe its a thought for management

Franson from the leafs. 3.2 to 3.5 gets it done IMO. I think that's a fair deal for both sides.

Rangers only have 2.3M in cap. Stepan is not signing for that. Once we are able to waive players is when a deal gets done I believe.

Then Stepan will report after that. Stepan is not signing for 2.3. He has already been offered 2.6 or 2.7 and Kadri got 2.9. There is no way Stepan signs for less than Kadri. Again it's not Stepans fault there is only 2.1 left. Sather will have to figure it out. If her was 1.5 left should Stepan have to sign that? Sather has put himself in this mess and now he will have to get himself out of it.

I don't think its anyone's fault, because your #'s just simply aren't true. The Rangers can sign Stepan for just about anything right now and worry about nipping and tucking later.

Which makes it all the more bizarre why he hasn't signed yet.

Hagelin and Callahan will do it when they get back and help out. I think Lindberg will definitely be a part of the PK when he makes the team.

What numbers are not true? They have 2.1 left according to cap geek and it was reported by Stepans agent that they offered between 2.5 and 2.6.

The other thing I should mention along these lines is that Powe has looked very good at camp thus far. He was skating really well on Thursday and handling the puck and shooting well yesterday. It may mean absolutely nothing when it comes to being waived, but he may have turned some of the dozen heads that sat above the rink watching.

I think we all know what Powe is. He's a strong skater, a grinder and obviously a fine defensive forward. But his offense is offensive which is why he will likely switch teams again. He's a specialist that needs the right situation to stick for more than a short term.

They're going to be able to make space if the deal ends up being more than what MGMT wants to give. They're trying to sign step while making as few cap freeing moves as possible or at least trying to save an extra few hundred thousand on cap. If this Hedberg this is legitimate, then perhaps they would rather a cap savings in back up than else where. Maybe the relunctance to give Stepan money is coming from AV wanting to keep a certain player or MGMT realizing that they need a certain players services in the absence of Callahan and Hagline that they're willing to resort to a potentially inferior goalie.

Despite all the Lindberg talk, I think Fasth is going to be the interesting one to watch.

He's probably one of Dereks friends or family members who could care less about the team itself. All of his posts have the same theme.
Waaahhhh pay Derek and stop treating him like garbage.

When did you start following hockey, becuase you honestly, don't seem to have a clue about

A) Whether players were signed, traded for or drafted

B) Understanding the rules of the cap, including, but not limited to, summer rules, waiver rules, concept of AHL players being included on the roster during camp
