The new board is big. It seems not as sharp as the old one. Also the colors were off. Orange was glowing and the B's gold on their jerseys looked orange. Hopefully they can make adjustments.

Maybe it looks better from the balcony ?

The plexiglass near us needs to be replaced. It is very scratched .

@GahdenRinkRat and I both thought ...meh....Wish the ice was better.

The new board at TD Garden has been a letdown

The graphics are basic and I know they have the software to improve it.

The Celtics do a far better job The team logos are embedded and it looks nice.

The old board looked so much better and the new one can do it - but the B's don't care about the fan presentation.

The new Islanders board uses the same Daktronics software and it is very well done.

We accept they lost a lot of money last year but this they are one of only 6 NHL teams reporting 100% capacity. The road telecasts are frankly terrible because Jack and Brick can't see the entire ice and just about every team now has announcers on the road.

They didn't produce a media guide this year - not even as a PDF.

They are clueless when it comes to this stuff. Both in Boston and in Providence. Fenway, it’s obvious they need a different voice there. Can believe the difference in presentation. It’s NHL vs NBA thing. NBA is far superior.

I don't go to enough games to really be able to chime in on the overall "presentation", but I will say that for someone who goes to a game or two a year at the Garden (went to the first two games of the Beanpot a couple weeks ago), the bigger board made a difference on the rare times that looking up at the board to see gameplay made sense. I really don't pay attention to it any other time. I guess I should mention that the presentation during those Beanpot games was little more than showing the game and then panning the crowd at every stoppage. I liked that.

I will also say that I sat front row balcony directly below a stairwell so I had no one in front of me and no one behind me. There is also a piece running the balcony facade that intentionally or unintentionally acts as a shelf for food and drinks. Pretty sure it's as cushy as it gets at the Garden.

The maddening thing is they have both the hardware and software to do it but....

This simply looks cheap compared to other NHL venues and yet they paid top dollar for the board.

Even the college boards around Boston just look more professional

thanks for this...have been to most games this year and the in game product is really weak....it lacks imagination and is a retread of aged and tired segments that have been running unchanged for years

that said - first, next and last the Jacobs family are business people....and if a lame and weak product produces 100% capacity why on earth would they see the need to spend more

and to add.....if they won't upgrade the ice, going cheap on the new board is consistent- do as little as possible

It is not even a case of being cheap - it is being creative.

They could easily reach out to local colleges who have graphic design programs and see what they come up with.

But obviously if the scoreboard had compelling material between periods you might not go to the concession stands.

It's a good thing for the Bruins that Boston a hockey town because the Celtics in-arena presentation and overall communication is light years better

excellence starts at the top of an organization and it is easy to see what organization drives for excellence and which organization drives for good enough.

and this is from a life long Bs fan who is an intermediate Celtics watcher

You are at a hockey game , if I wanted to read I would go to a library..........

Memories ............ now that is a scoreboard
Haha, I was going to say the same. Whenever I go to a game, whether it's the Garden or Fenway, I spend my time watching the players and occasionally check the scoreboard for basic stuff, score, time, replay if there's a questionable call..other than the basics I really don't care about the scoreboard. The old original 1995 Shawmut Center one was fine with me 😂

On a side note, can we change the goal horn and maybe use a real horn and not a cheapo recording?
