1) 4th with dumping Callahan isn’t enough
2) dumping Killorn = you have to pay.

1. Stralman, Coburn, and Girardi contracts end.

2. See what it will take to sign Point

3. One or both of the following are done as needed:

- 3a. Miller is traded for futures

- 3b. Callahan is either traded with retention and/or incentive or is bought out, depending on how much cap space we need and what if any trade opportunities are available to us

4. Point is signed.

5. Our remaining RFAs are signed or replaced.

6. If cap space permits at this point, either one of Coburn/Girardi is resigned or an outside veteran bottom pairing defenseman is signed or acquired on a cheap one-year deal.

The above represents the most likely scenario for our offseason. If one of our other forwards (particularly Killorn) is willing to waive his full NTC that would present other possibilities for us, and if we absolutely have to we also have the option of trading McDonagh or Gourde before their new contracts and full NTCs kick in (though that would obviously be our last resort.)

are Headman or Sergachev available?

No, they are not. Miller and Callahan are available, Killorn would be if he’d be willing to waive his full NTC, and in an extremely unlikely worst case scenario it’s possible that we might look to move McDonagh or Gourde (though that scenario is so unlikely that it’s not worth discussing at this point.) Beyond that the only available players would be those in lesser roles (fourth line forwards, bottom pairing defensemen, and pressbox residents.)

We could probably get something worked out if we can get a team to bite on retained Callahan.
