Stamkos explored the market and re-signed. Still anybody's guess where he goes.

TB was in a much different position at that point than the Isles are now. Honestly, I thought Stamkos was gone. Not sure about JT, but you have to think some of these teams are going to try to convince him he can immediately start winning cups. Hard for the Isles to make that same "immediately" pitch.

I can't see him actually going to Tampa, they still have a pay Kucherov big $$$ and then Point, Vasi and Serg will be getting new contracts soon as well

We'd have to lose Johnson and or Killorn (which I'd be fine with) but still

Tampa does have a lot of contracts coming off the books over the next 2 years tho, including that awful Callahan contract

Arthur's Staple reported it was SJS, TOR, TBL, DAL and LAK.

I wonder if this is just a preliminary though and he will meet with more teams after

LA? How they have 3 million bucks, in Cap room they would need to clear anoyher 10-12 because you need to pay Tavares 10-12 then you need a couple money in case of injury during the season

Everyone reporting they expect him to re-sign back with the islanders but I’m not 100% convinced.

I still think it’s 50/50

Tavares definitely does his due diligence but that doesn’t mean he’s meeting with teams for the heck of it.

A great sales pitch just might win him over.

I thought Islanders fans said he was resigning 100% with Trotz. Lol so much for that.

San Jose is the best option for him to win the cup, Toronto is 2nd no doubt

We talking this coming season or the next seven? Because Jumbo, Pavelski, and Burns are not getting any younger either. He could do some damage with the Sharks in the next couple of years for sure but after that is there enough coming down the pipeline to keep it rolling.

So many things for Sharks to pitch Tavares and his agent on

-You put us over the hump right now
-California is a great place to live and work. Nice weather
-lower tax rate vs NYC and Canada
-cap space to make other moves and get more help
-big enough hockey market but small enough to go out in public and be low key

I think they might sway him.

Would be a good team for him, but you could pretty much say the same things about Dallas and no state tax
