Tanev hasn’t played well for a lot of this season and that has reflected in his advanced stats. But the reason he hasn’t played well is because he’s been playing through an injury.
Apparently the injury has healed now, and that actually makes sense because he’s looked good the last 2 games.
Tanev's shot share numbers have been dropping steadily for 5 seasons now. They've plummeted this year, but fair enough, you said he's playing through injury, so we can forgive that in the discussion.
But if shot suppression is your thing that gives you value, and it's been getting worse for years, it's not unfair to say his value is headed the same way. He's 29, and often injured to go along with it. Not saying he has no value, but I think a late-1st is the best piece in any return. Any accompanying prospect is farther down the depth chart imo
