I've said it before and ill say it again. Maatta has been eaten cleanly 5 or 6 times and has DIRECTLY caused a goal because of moves exactly like that. Karlsson, Corey tropp, and a couple of others this season. As much as everyone likes the guy, it's just lazy footwork and an inability to adapt. He can't handle players coming in with speed and inside out moves. I don't know why this isn't talked about as much as it should be. It's clearly an issue

Malkin could have pushed Palat wide there but he just let him come through the zone with speed. The winger should have come in as well. Way too much space given. Finally get ahead then lose it with bad discipline.
