Fortunately the Oilers are loaded with young offensive talent that could find some chemistry toward the end of the season and eek out a few more meaningless wins. I think Calgary is the real threat down the stretch.

Also a condensed schedule is good for the Sabres. Harder to win playing a ton of games in a short period of time.

Not including this year? 3 more years, minimum. Playoffs before 2017-2018 would be a miracle. Heck, look at the Panthers. They have everything we're attempting to acquire (a nice cluster of young offensive and defensive studs), and they seem to be nowhere near a playoff spot. Why should our team look any different in the standings 2-3 seasons from now? We might, but I wouldn't bet that way.
