What the hell would they need a federal mediator for if they were cancelling the season? Also, in what way is Saskin or any member of the PA leadership involved in the cancellation of the season.

It's the owners league, they can close it whenever they want.

And why would the NHL and Saskin be in Washington today, on a Sunday. How many federal mediators are going to go through the process on a Sunday? If the NHL has said it's "deadline" is Sunday night, it would make sense that they made it then in order to get any legal stuff done next week. I highly doubt that the NHL would be engaging themselves in that today rather than waiting by the phones for a call from the PA.

Besides, they have no rush to technically cancel the season once the deadline has passed, all Bettman has to do is come out and say see you in August...then the league has 5 months to get all the legal stuff done.

Washington must be just a rumour. I see them meeting secretly in NYC or T.O in all likelyhood. The NHL caught us by surprise last Wed with Media not even knowing they were together and the NHL bringing another proposal. I really see them talking right now that is going right down to the wire tonight. If not then both can kiss my ***. We will see.

I read a story,yesterday i believe,that ended with a sentiment i agree with 100%.

It said "in the end both sides will get what they deserve".
