Kane-Thornton-Pavelski
Hertl-Couture-LaBanc
Meier-Tierney-Donskoi
Sorensen-Gambrell-Karlsson
Goodrow

Vlasic-Braun
Ryan-Burns
Dillon-DeMelo
Heed

Jones
Dell

All of these are pretty much set in stone except Donskoi and LaBanc are possibly interchangeable, as well as Gambrell and Goodrow.

Suomela could get it over Gambrell. Gambrell is pretty green still and is far from a sure thing

Yes, good point. Suomela or Goodrow over Gambrell at 4C is a possibility.

Everything else, I feel, is set in stone if we do not have any personnel changes.

This year's Pacific Division looks really really weak. If the Sharks were in any other division, I'd say that they might be able to win one playoff series. Might. In this crappy division, they have a decent shot to make the WCF.

There isnt a lot of movement.

Sounds like a decent chance at the SCF then and a big asterisk for when we win the cup.

Yeah, I have no idea what happened here. All of this talk about the Leafs is making me upset as a fan.

Seriously it’s upsetting me as well.

Should the Kings have an asterisk on their 2012 Cup because they got to face Arizona and New Jersey in the final two rounds?

Any reason to discredit anything LA accomplishes is fine by me.

I still don't know why everyone is all about soumela and not a peep about radil. His equivalency points is a good amount higher that Soumela.

I'd say it's a good chance both make the roster and we jettison Tierney and Melker later in the season when they prove themselves

We all expect Radil to play, he’s just a winger not a center.

It seems like no one ever says anything about Radil and everyone talks about soumela. I'm excited to have both of them, but it's like everyone like soumela because he signed a good bit after radil and radil signed earlier in the year, so it's just the shiny new toy thing.

To be honest, I’m still mad about that. We have to face the f***ing Penguins and the 2012 Kings got the one hit wonder Devils and then in 2014 they got the f***ing Rangers, who were lead in playoff scoring by a defenseman with 17 points in 25 games. Absolute joke.

The Kings had to defeat one of the best teams of all time in the 2014 conference final. The Rangers also had Lundqvist.

When discussing Tampa, you must consider Stamkos's heavy playoff regression. So far, while he's mostly been a franchise-quality player in the regular season, come the playoffs, he's more of a 2nd-line forward/PP specialist.

Otherwise, obviously Toronto's forward group is stronger, and Tampa's defense is clearly better. Both teams will have cap problems, but Tampa's are probably deeper. I do think an x-factor is Tampa's culture/front office. Culture does matter, and I'm not sure (even with the GM change) if Toronto really has a winning culture. Dubas seems like a sharp guy, but apparently, some of the questionable moves and picks were made under his guidance. It can't help that the market and technology leads to a lot of pressure on the players and affects their play.

Lundqvist only had a .927 sv% in the playoffs that year. Please.

So the Kings had to defeat one decent team in two Cup runs, big whoop.

I think it's more along the lines of we have an opening at center and Suomela is a center. We have an abundance of wingers and Radil may not be more than the extra forward with all the wingers we currently have. I don't like Radil's odds currently have cracking the lineup.

Toronto's forward group as it stands right now is...

Matthews, Tavares, Nylander, Marner, Marleau, Kadri, Hyman, Brown, Leivo, Kapanen, Johnsson, Ennis, and probably Lindholm. Compared to the Tampa forward group...

Stamkos, Kucherov, Point, Johnson, Palat, Miller, Killorn, Gourde, Cirelli, Paquette, Callahan, Erne, Conacher, and Andreoff.

Toronto's big four certainly has the edge over Tampa's just because all of them are 1st line talents and Johnson isn't but the difference isn't vast and it's made up for by the depth Tampa has up front that's better than Toronto by a hefty margin. The other thing about it is that Tampa actually has a future with these guys pretty much wrapped up and a blue line. Toronto will either have to go cheap on the blue line and somehow get worse there or they will have to move on from Marner or Nylander to afford one of those two plus Matthews and Tavares.

As for Stamkos' playoff quality, he was one point shy of a point-per-game in this playoff run. I think his playoff woes are exaggerated.
