Too late. Karlsson taking to VGK's GMGM.

How would that make it too late for #KarlssonWatch? Wouldn’t that mean right now is #KarlssonWatch and we are watching to see what happens with him?

Y'all just love to torture yourselves. Karlsson being traded anytime before the season would be surprising.

Karlsson definitely is getting traded before the season starts. The question is where and the answer probably isn’t San Jose.

When is the last time a franchise C was available that we had a chance at getting? Seguin in 2013?

IDK if they need to be "franchise" players; ROR would have been good, Duchene would have been good, Tavares would have been good, etc. It seems like 1-2 appropriate players come up per year, even though they aren't always franchise players. Personally I'd rather spend cap on that, even though I can see the argument for getting franchise players when they become available, irrespective of need

We didn’t have a chance at getting Tavares. We offered over $14M more than Toronto did and he chose to go to his hometown to live out his childhood dream.

It’s practically impossible to acquire a #1C without tanking. If you can acquire Erik Karlsson to give us the best defense core in the NHL, it’s a strong backup plan. If we sit here waiting for the next opportunity to acquire a #1C without tanking, we just might die before we get one. DW absolutely refuses to tank, so we have to try other things to make our team competitive without tanking.

Or they could find a way to convince Hertl and Couture that every game is the playoffs... probably more likely than us signing one.

Can the Warriors help the Sharks out? Please.
You'd have to fix the national media. You would think most of Canada's media hasn't found out that you can have an ice rink in a warm climate using technology that has existed for 100 years. The players are probably worried about hurting their ankles try to skate in mud. :sarcasm:
