From a gif it’s a very questionable hit. Another angle at full speed should confirm just how bad.

Are they saying it is "perfectly clean" or: minor penalty for boarding ...move along.

I'm not sure why the NHL allows hits from behind the way they do, but they do.
Stralman left his feet. Why would you do that on the numbers? So it is an obvious penalty though often not called unless it looks bad, the result more than the actual hit, and the victim is always partially blamed if he is aware the hit is coming. Good thing on this one the glass had a lot of give where Wilson's head impacted. Looks like he might have embellished it but who knows?

So now you have a guy like Wilson that might deliver a more forceful version of the hit, even without jumping, and the results could be worse.
