Phillips unlikely to play before the break. Stone sent to Bingo to get some ice time. "We expect he'll get another opportunity." - MacLean

Good for him to get some ice time during the olympic break.

Makes sense given the recent play of Da Costa, it's unfortunate for Stone that he got hurt when he was playing so well, but such is the life of an un-established NHLer.

If I'm Conacher, Greening, and also to an extent Michalek, I'm getting nervous about my future in Ottawa. Guys like Stone, Da Costa, Pageau and Hoffman are knocking at the door and getting very close. Next year, Lazar, Prince and Puempel should start getting looks too. That's not even including players like Schneider and Petersson who might also be given consideration

Wouldn't surprise me if SDC was sent down during Oly break as well. Those young guys need to play a lot and keep developing.

Stone will be up with the big club again before the season is over.

Isn't there a roster freeze during the olympics preventing teams to send players down/up?

I would put money on him coming right back up after the Olympic break. Now that Spezza has pulled his head out of his ass (albeit slightly) it will be interesting to see them together again.

I don't think Da Costa has to clear waivers again until next year because he went unclaimed the first time.

Once a player plays 10 games, or has been up for 30 days, they have to be waived again.

Tonight will be game 8 of his call-up (game 12 of his season)... so I think he can be sent down without being waived.

Pretty sure that while Stone was actually playing Spezza was carrying that line and set Stone up with many good scoring opportunities (none of which he converted).

In his next call-up it will be interesting to see if he can make quicker decisions with the puck. He's definitely a smart player but I'm not sold on his success as a top 6 player unless he can do that.

I think they want to get Stone playing throughout the Olympic break, he needs to play & get back up to game speed & Bingo could use him. After the Olympics if he continues to do well down there I expect him to be called back up. I wonder if Da Costa will also get sent down to help Bingo for the next couple of weeks. The two guys who should be concerned with Stone & SDC taking their roster spots are the two Connies.

If BM brings in a top 6 winger (Moulson or Stafford) than I would think Conacher`s spot is the one that would be in trouble since he has been a healthy scratch in the past. Condra is also in an iffy position since I believe he gets less ice tme than almost every other forward on the team, while he is a PK specialist & drives possession he doesn`t bring all that much more. I think he is very replaceable.

SDC needs to pass waiver's in order to get sent down. They said that on TSN1200 today.

The bolded part is pure BS. Spezza wasn't carrying Stone at all.

Well, hope Ryan's injury isn't too bad. And I hope Stone gets a chance to put on a good show (and not get another ouchie). This team really needs something positive to happen soon.
