There's optimistic, then there's the realization that this team can't string together a consistent effort for more than 2 games at a time. The Blues look old and slow compared to the "kids" who are currently ruling the NHL.

I genuinely don't know why I am coming back for this 3rd period but I am here. I am going to throw out my prediction for this 3rd.

Blues push a little but ultimately give up an odd man rush that ends up in our net 3-0 Canucks.
Then the Blues score some fluky goal, probably a tipped point shot or something 3-1. Canucks
Canucks shut it down completely and Blues are barely able to get a shot on goal down the stretch.
Empty netter. Final 4-1 Canucks.

i'm an East-coaster, and tend to watch the game on a 40-minute delay to as to avoid commercials and intermissions. I'm just catching up.
But too am on the verge of tuning out if this team doesn't come alive. Staying up past midnight to watch this garbage just isn't worth it these days.
