1OA? no, not gonna happen
beside no place to fit the $7.5M Cap Hit

maybe Dunn and StL 1st for ADA + ?
what does StL need ...

They need to shed Tarasenko’s contract (the riskiest one they currently have) so they can sign Petro and then have room to sign all of their young guys over the next couple of years - during this likely to be flat cap era.

So they want to try to hit a home run with the return.

ELCs were very important pre-CV19... now their value will be twice as valuable. No one will want to trade away those players on ELCs who can play and contribute in the NHL over the next few years. Especially those that can possibly play in the top half of the lineup.

Actually with tatadenko needing surgery again. He can be put on ltir for next season. Bozak and allen are gone after next season so when tarasenko comes back we won't have an issue

So Tarasenko will be out all next season? There’s 3.5 months (at the earliest) before the next season begins. Good luck with that.

This will be the third surgery on the sane shoulder he could be done permittly. It is 6 months after his surgery and thats if he does the accelerated time table which didn't work last time. Its not a huge concern right now

No I have been reading reports. You forget this is the third injury to same shoulder. He will be on ltir to begin season. I would assume at least 75% 80% of the season negating 6 million. Petro only needs 3.

We have Pietrangelo (hopefully), Parayko, Faulk, and Bortuzzo on RD. Even if you take out Pietrangelo, there isn't really room for ADA. I really don't want him anyway, not a good fit with the Blues style.

Would the Rangers be open to trading the #1 overall for Tarasenko ? maybe add V.Dunn for #1 and DeAngelo ?
Rangers need right winger/ they are strong on left side already. Tarasenko gets to play with his buddy Panarin. Might have to to fill some either way for cap issue.

No to anything above

Tarasenko at the height of his powers probably wasn’t worth a 1OA pick. You’re not going to get full value for him now given the uncertainty around his shoulder, and to go a step further, he has a NTC that I’m doubtful he would waive since he has a young family and seems to love STL. I don’t see a Tarasenko trade happening and certainly not one for 1OA.
